Edward Garrett Pratt, M.D.

Dr. Garrett Pratt MD

Dr. Garrett Pratt was born in Augusta, GA and finished his residency there, but in the years between he has traveled far and done a great many things. While studying to be a doctor, he has lived in Memphis, Boston, Providence, Detroit, Atlanta and now has settled in Austin. His undergraduate degree was in psychology and he first went to Psychiatry residency out of medical school, planning to join the family business in the psychiatry office where his father and brother work. This was not for him, so he left the Emory Psychiatry program and headed into Family Medicine. Along the way he met his wife, Adriana, another Premier Family Physician. When not working, the doctors Pratt enjoy spending time with their children, traveling, cooking and living life in Austin. Garrett also enjoys computers, camping, martial arts, playing pool very well and guitar very poorly.

Care Philosophy:

A primary care doctor is not only someone to turn to when you are sick, but someone who should help you to learn to care for yourself over a lifetime. It is also important to remember that simply living your life longer, without making sure that your life is worthwhile, is a waste. As a Family Physician with a background in Psychiatry, my philosophy is that patients should have someone to look after them both mentally and physically, so they can have longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives; and this is who I strive to be.
