Care Philosophy

New medical products and tests continue to be introduced that changes how physicians practice medicine. However, the relationship between family doctor and patient does not "change" so much as it "grows" as we journey through life together. I am privileged to work for amazing people, my patients, some for two decades. My style is to put medical science through a practical sense filter on an individualized basis to provide advice to prevent illness, to help heal when illness occurs, and to provide comfort when recovery cannot be achieved.

Michelle Blackburn, APRN, NP-C - Now Accepting New Patients

Michelle is originally from the Chicagoland area. Her desire to become a nurse was sparked by both of her grandmothers who had careers in nursing. Michelle became a certified nursing assistant during her college years and was exposed to a variety of settings from assisted living to skilled nursing, home health, and hospice. Once she graduated with her BSN, she worked on an inpatient orthopedics unit at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. After 5 years of working as a nurse, she made the decision to pursue her MSN. She chose the Family Nurse Practitioner route because she wanted to provide care across the lifespan and bring value to this ever-changing health care system. She lives in Dripping Springs with her husband and son. In her free time, she enjoys running, shopping, and of course spending time with family and friends.

Care Philosophy

"I chose nursing as a profession because I truly feel the desire to make a difference in the lives of others. My goal is to provide excellent care while acknowledging each patient’s individuality. As an advocate, I partner with my patients to provide education, set goals, promote wellness, and treat illnesses. I also strive to model positive healthy lifestyle choices in the belief that I provide better care to others if I take good care of myself too."
