Dr. Gurneet Kohli completed his medical school in India and then trained in Internal Medicine in New York City. He worked in a rural community clinic in Towanda, PA for Guthrie Clinic right out of residency. There, he promoted preventive care and started 'no patient turned back' policy along with empowering diabetics with their own care. He has family in and around Austin, so he decided to move here after his son was born. He lives with his wife and their two children. He likes to play tennis, soccer, watch movies, kayaking, and mountain biking.
"Patients are the captains of their 'Health ship'. A doctor should act as the navigator. My job is to help the patients by giving them all the information they need to make the right decisions about their health. All I need to do is listen carefully to the patient, and understand his/her needs. Simple. I have a special interest in geriatrics, diabetes mellitus, and preventive cardiology."

I always try to explain to patients the positive and negative sides of each problem and provide all the necessary medical advice so that patients can make an informed decisions about their own health. Patients enjoy working with me on a treatment plan because I listen and develop a personalized plan that incorporates patients’ input and preferences. I have a passion for internal medicine where I manage patients with complex medical problems. I am also passionate about educating patients about preventative measures to improve their health and well-being. My special interests are endocrinology and cardiology.
